I'm smelling a love triangle brewing...
It looks like Spider-Man's love life is about to get hella complicated. Mania.com is reporting that Rachel McAdams(The Notebook) has met with the producers of Spider-Man 4 for the role of Felicia Hardy, otherwise known as the...buoyant but dangerous Black Cat. Much like most of the villains involved in the Spider-Man movie universe, she will likely drive a wedge in the relationship between Peter Parker(Tobey Maguire) and Mary Jane Watson(Kirsten Dunst). The Black Cat is one of the few characters that Spider-Man shared his civilian persona with, and the two actually formed something of a dynamic duo for a brief period of time.
While some are convinced that this indicates that the Black Cat is the main villain of the film, I'm pretty sure there will be much more evil foil for Spider-Man to face. Black Cat will play a similar role to Catwoman in Batman Returns, which is that of a nuisance to Spider-Man, and also probably a tool of the real mastermind evildoer of the story. All I know is that Rachel McAdams would make one helluva Black Cat. I can see her in the tight black spandex already!
