Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Something about this movie always rubbed me the wrong way, but it's one of the highest grossing animated films of the year so somebody clearly enjoyed it. Cloudy is the story of an inventor who manages to find a way to make grub fall from the sky like rain. If it rains bacon, I'd be the happiest man on the planet.
The Final Destination
Third times the charm as death makes another go'round at finishing off another band of "lucky" escapees. Unlike the previous Final Destination films, this one is unabashedly cheesy, but it's clear they've run out of unique ways to mine comedy out of death. Fans of the earlier FD movies will find enough to enjoy here, though.
10 Things I Hate About You
I'm not sure why this needed to be re-releases, holding no real significance other than being the film that put both Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles on the map. They wouldn't be trying to cash in on the poor guy's demise, would they? Nahhhh...I'm sure it has more to do with the crappy 10 Things TV show or the recent award season success of the film's other big name star, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt(500 Days of Summer).
Trucker
Michelle Monaghan is all elbows and sharp edges here as a fun loving, hard drinking long-haul trucker who's life is turned upside down when she's suddenly forced to begin taking care of her estranged son. Not the type of role I'd expect Monaghan to excel at , but she's generated quite a bit of award season buzz for the role. Co-Stars geek favorite, Nathan Fillion.
Lorna's Silence
The famed realist directors the Dardenne Brothers' latest bleak drama involves a woman caught in a scheme to murder her husband, a drug addict she married as part of a scheme to attain citizenship. The Dardennes pull no punches, presenting one woman's desperate attempt to escape from one deadly mistake after another.
