Joss Whedon Prepping for San Diego Comic-Con: The Documentary?

Superstar creator, self admitted geek fanboy, Joss Whedon(Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly) might be on the lookout for a few of his own kind to follow to this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Whedon is reportedly teaming up with documentarian Morgan Spurlock(Super Size Me!) are looking to follow three super geeks for a few months leading up to the yearly media bonanza, in hopes of making a documentary about the event and geek culture as a whole.  So if you're someone who likes to dress up as a Sith lord at comic book conventions....and I know some people who do.......you might want to try looking Whedon up. I'm sure he's in the phone book.

Both parts of this equation seem to go perfect together. Whedon is the king of all things pop nerd. Pretty much everything he does, whether it's TV, comics, or film, turns to geek gold. I've been a fan of Morgan Spurlock's ever since Super Size Me, and the guy has done some truly innovative stuff with the documentary form since then. His short lived TV show, 30 Days, was groundbreaking work. It's just too bad not enough people tuned in. While I'm sure this is a project that won't see big screen release(or at least not much), it'll likely be released on DVD and the small screen and will achieve immediate cult status along the same lines as Trekkies.

The last movie I remember taking place at Comic-Con was Mark Hamill's abysmal film, Comic Book: The Movie. Surely this will be better than that.
