Rated 'R' for Rumorific. Take this one with a heap of salt. Forces of Geek, whom I've called out as being highly speculative on this site before, is pushing a rumor that Rosamund Pike(An Education) could be in line to star as Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn's X-men: First Class. The actress was tagged hanging around Matthew Vaughn's casting agent, Lucinda Syson, and was reportedly carrying a copy of X-men Origins: Emma Frost.
This sounds a little too on the nose. She just happened to be walking around with an Emma Frost comic book? Really?
She'd be good for the role, although at 31 she could be a touch too old. She's shown that she has the ability to play both glamorous and emotionally distant characters in the past, which is perfect because that's exactly what Emma Frost is.
Emma Frost, formerly known as the White Queen, is a long standing enemy of the X-men. Formerly a member of the Hellfire Club, she had her own school for gifted mutants, forming a team known as the Hellions. She has since reformed from her evil ways and has become an integral member of the X-men, currently dating it's leader, Scott "Cyclops" Summers.
