Quickly...
* If Scott Rudin has his way, Angelina Jolie will be donning the headdress of an Egyptian royal once again. He's looking to adapt Stacy Schiff's novel, Cleoptra: A Life, for the big screen with Jolie in the title role. The problem could be Jolie's jam packed schedule, which led to Schiff taking her name off the list of possibilities to star, but Rudin continues to insist that she's in consideration. I think this one's a longshot to get off the ground, but we shall see.
* Nick Nolte and Jennifer Garner are close to finalizing a deal to star in the upcoming remake of Arthur, starring Russell Brand(Get Him to the Greek). They would join Helen Mirren(Calandar Girls), and Greta Gerwig(my new crush from Greenberg) in the story of a drunken playboy who could inherit a fortune if he marries a wealthy heiress. The original 1981 film is considered a classic by some, with Dudley Moore earning a Best Actor nomination for his performance. I always thought it was a terribly overrated flick, but maybe this one will be better. You know Liza Minnelli will show up in it at some point, don't you?
* I know WB wants to move quickly on a sequel to Clash of the Titans so that people don't have time to think about how awful it was, but surely there are better options than Jonathan Liebesman to direct it? That's the buzz going around, that Liebesman is the guy at the top of their list. Would you put a major franchise like this in the hands of a guy who's two biggest films were Darkness Falls and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning? Why not just hire me to do it? I can screw a movie up at a much cheaper price than he'd ask for, and I'll even wash your car.
