Three Men and a Bride in the works

Quick, what's the highest grossing film Leonard Nimoy ever directed? If your answer was either Star Trek 3 or 4, then you chose poorly. It was 1987's family comedy, Three Men and a Baby, which went on to make over $160M that year. The film has become something of a modern day comedy classic, and was followed up four years later by the sappy Three Men and a Little Lady. That one didn't fare so well. The concept followed three bachelors, played by Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg, and Tom Selleck, who find themselves instant unfit daddys when a baby is left on their doorstep.

Seriously? Three "hetero" dudes living together in one house and there was absolutely no funny business going on? Try making that movie nowadays. Gregg Araki would have a field day.

Twentyfour years later and the rumors have been swirling about Disney possibly going back to the "Three Men" well. Steve Guttenberg, he of the infamous Guttenberg Scale, stated as much last fall. Nothing was confirmed however. That is until now. While promoting the dismal looking film, Killers, Tom Selleck confirmed that the project is indeed in the works and he's been approached to reprise his role.

The film would tentatively be titled Three Men and a Bride, and would reunite all of the principle characters. Ok, maybe not Nancy Travis. And probably not Nimoy, who excused himself from directing the sequel and just recently went into retirement from Hollywood.

It's doubtful that they'll bring back Robin Wiseman, who played the little girl in the sequel. She hasn't been seen since an episode of Thunder in Paradise way back in 1994. Another promising career cut short at the hands of Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Le sigh.

Obviously we'll keep an eye on this one, as it may be an avenue for us to finally get Steve Guttenberg on our show. Then I can retire happy and fulfilled.
