Best Poster of the year? Julie Taymor's The Tempest

It seems people just can't get enough of Shakespeare's The Tempest. It's been adapted three times for the big screen, none of which packing the acting muscle of Julie Taymor's(Titus) upcoming version. The Tempest stars Helen Mirren(as Prospera, the role changed from male to female), Djimon Honsou, David Strathairn, Alan Cumming, Chris Cooper, Alfred Molina, Russell Brand, and Ben Whishaw.

Now a poster has been released for the film, and I think it's the best I've seen in ages. Even better than the crucial Inception posters. Why? Something about the flames just around the ages and the sheer intensity of all pictured, in particular Helen Mirren. There are also a couple of interesting still shots, including one badass one of Mirren surrounded by a ring of fire.

Julie Taymor is one of those directors that can be very polarizing. Sometimes her background as a theater director gets in the way of her ability to translate a story to the big screen. Such was the case with her most recent film, 2008's Across the Universe. I haven't had a chance to catch Titus yet, but I know it's equally extreme on both sides of the argument. You either love it or hate it. I have a feeling this might be similarly divisive, but we shall see. Check out the images below, and let us know what you think!
