Sure Shots: Bill & Ted 3; Red State; Natalie Portman

Quickly...

* Rumors of a possible reuniting of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter(remember him?) for a third Bill & Ted film have been circulating for damn near 20 years. After Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey released way back in 1991, the next film was actualy written with plans for release some time in 1996. The fell through, and the bulk of the plot ended as part of Bio-Dome. Yes, the Pauly Shore Bio-Dome. Now it's looking more and more likely that another film will happen as Keanu Reeves has confirmed that he and Alex Winter(along with the original film's writers and director) are in talks and are trying to put the production together.  Considering the divergent paths their careers have gone I'm sure Alex Winter is ecstatic. I'll be really hyped for this if they take the two radical dudes down a much darker road than the previous two films.

* Last week it was Kevin Pollack, this week it's John Goodman(Coyote Ugly) joining the cast of Kevin Smith's religiously themed horror, Red State, about a group of kids who run into a crazed Fred Phelps-type figure. What's more, filming has finally gotten under way this week. Goodman will be joining Melissa Leo, Michael Angarano, Dermot Mulroney, Michael Parks, and Stephen Root.

* Natalie Portman starring as Snow White? Yes please. Natalie Portman starring as Snow White in a darker, more adult take on the classic fairy tale directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet?(Amelie, A Very Long Engagement) Double yes. That's the rumor spreading around, with both both reportedly up for the film titled Brothers Grimm: Snow White. Portman doing an edgier film like this seems strange after the buzz she's receiving for Black Swan. It just seems sorta similar on the face of it all. Jeunet also makes for a strange fit, but with projects like Micmacs and Alien Resurrection(such as it is), the director has proven he can do interesting work out of any genre.
