Sure Shots: The Equalizer; Little Girl Lost; Conan

* Paul Haggis(Crash) is in negotiations to write the film adaptation of The Equalizer, based on the 1985-89 TV series about a former secret agent who puts his skills to use defending the weak. Russell Crowe has been attatched to star for a few months now. The question is whether or not Haggis will direct. Lord I hope not.

* Jonathan Levine's follow-up to The Wackness(one of my fave flicks from a couple years ago) will be an adaptation of Richard Aleas's crime novel, Little Girl Lost, about a detective investigating the murder of his high school sweetheart. The script is being written by Michael Bacall(Scott Pilgrim vs. The World).

* Conan hasn't even come out yet and already work is underway on a sequel. The Conan Movie Blog notes an "inside source" that says the screenplay is based entirely on one of creator Robert E. Howard's novels. Not sure which one, though. The script was reportedly penned by Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain.
