Rhys Ifans to terrorize Spider-Man!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that he won't be reprising his role as Danny Deckchair. Rhys Ifans has just been announced(via Columbia Pictures press release) as playing the villain in Marc Webb's upcoming relaunch of the Spider-Man franchise. Ifans broke onto the scene back in 1999 in Notting Hill opposite Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.

No word was given as to which villain it'd be, so who are the likely candidates? I think we can rule out Green Goblin. He does have a certain lithe frame. The Chameleon, maybe? Or a younger version of The Vulture? Let the speculation begin.

Ifans joins star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and the recently added Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.
