DVD Deal of the Day: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete(Blu-Ray)

Like a lot of people I was completely overtaken by Final Fantasy 7 when it released on Sony's Playstation all those years ago. At the time I considered it the best, most complete role playing experience ever brought to a home gaming console. My take on it has soured somewhat over the years, but there's no denying that Square Enix's flagship franchise set the bar for all future RPG's ever since. But does it make a good movie?

We've seen other Final Fantasy flicks before, most notably the horrendous Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, but this was the first to actually pick up where the games left off, continuing the adventures of Cloud the sullen warrior, Tifa, Barrett and the rest of the gang. Advent Children is actually better than the game ever was, giving us a story that doesn't feel tacked on, but definitely gives these fan favorite characters the resolution we've been asking for. It should go without saying that the visuals are stunning, crisp and sharp. On Blu-Ray it's even better. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete is a must own not just for fans of the video game, but for fans of gorgeous animated adventures. At only $11.99 this is an absolute steal.
