Trailer Time: Battle: Los Angeles, directed by Jonathan Liebesman

So much has been made of Jonathan Liebesman's Battle: Los Angeles ever since Comic-Con that I wondered if it could ever live up to the hype. Since I wasn't at that event earlier this year and didn't see the previously released footage, all I really had to go on were the exasperated ravings of a few die hard sci-fi nerd friends of mine. Described as a cross between Black Hawk Down and Independence Day, it certainly sounded like something that would be right up my alley.

Now the first teaser trailer has been released and all I can say is "Wow". I love the slow build, showing the world's reaction to the incoming alien invasion, although Sony Pictures wisely decided to not really show us much of the alien vessels themselves. And something about that music gave me shivers. It all comes together seamlessly. I seriously can not wait for this, and I can see why Liebesman is in such high demand now. Let's just hope the flick delivers.

Battle: Los Angeles stars Michelle Rodriguez, Aaron Eckhart, Bridget Moynahan, and Michael Pena. It's due to hit theaters on March 11th, 2011. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think!
