Toy Story 3
pretty much wrapped up the big screen adventures of Buzz and Woody(*sniff*), but anybody who thinks we've seen the last of them or any of their friends is out of their mind. The first words we heard about a possible return to the TS world was back when director Lee Unkrich mentioned the possibility of seeing the characters in a short film ahead of Cars 2 when it releases next year. We had no idea what that film could possibly be about, and technically I guess we still don't, but I think we may have just gotten some clues...A couple of days ago, Pixar story artist Floyd Norman tweeted this....
"Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii. I don't know what it's gonna be attached to. Fun stuff, however."
This would be the Ken and Barbie who found love and their "Happily Ever After" moment in Toy Story 3. Apparently Pixar's not quite done with them yet, but as you can see Norman doesn't say whether it'll be attached to Cars 2 or not. In fact the very next day he reiterated the point...
"I honestly have no idea what short will precede "Cars2." In any case, it's been a busy week."
Chanes are, "Hawaii" will be what we get next year, but until it's confirmed you just never know. I wouldn't put it past Pixar to surprise us with something totally fresh and unexpected.
