Ed Helms was catapulted to stardom as part of a hilarious ensemble in The Hangover last year, so it stands to reason that his next major comedy effort(other than The Hangover 2) would be something similar. Helms will next be seen in Cedar Rapids, directed by Miguel Arteta(Youth in Revolt). The comedy stars Helms, Anne Heche, Rob Corddry, Alia Shawkat, John C. Reilly, Sigourney Weaver, and Isiah Whitlock Jr. Actually looks pretty funny, and it's good to see Whitlock getting some mainstream love after his stint on The Wire. To call insurance agent Tim Lippe (Ed Helms), “naive” is a gross understatement. He’s never left his small hometown. He’s never stayed at a hotel. And he’s never experienced anything like Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sent to represent his company at the annual insurance convention, Tim is soon distracted by three convention veterans (John C. Reilly, Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock Jr.) who will show him the ropes and push his boundaries. For a guy who plays everything by the book, this convention will be anything but conventional.
