The fairest of them all? Kristen Stewart in talks to join Snow White and the Huntsman
Who flipped the casting rumor switch last night? Between Prometheus, The Dark Tower, and Snow White and the Huntsman it's been a steady stream. Must be lots of drunken negotiations going on at Sundance.
With Viggo Mortensen named as a frontrunner to play the protective Huntsman in Universal's action reimagining of Snow White, the studio's aim was to seek out a fresh face to play the role of the princess. But when you have a chance to snag Kristen Stewart, fresh off wrapping up The Twilight Saga, can you ever pass that up? Heatvision reports that the superstar actress is in talks to join the Rupert Sanders directed flick, which also sees Charlize Theron still circling the role of the evil queen.
Nothing is finalized yet, with screen testing still going on. Emily Browning, who will next be seen in Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch, is the latest to vie for the role. Both would make excellent choices, but clearly if Stewart wants it Universal is going to give it to her. She comes with a built-in fanbase, and has an extensive enough filmography that shows just how talented she is. She's done her best work outside of Twilight, and this would give her a chance to put her stamp on probably the most recognizable character she'll ever play.
Snow White and the Huntsman is slated for a December 21st 2012 release.
