The Three Stooges casting still wide open, according to Peter Farrelly

Another pie in the face of entertainment news sites. Not our poor little blog, of course. I do know the difference between actors being on a "list" or "in talks" and not actually being cast. That being said, The Farrelly Brothers appear to be none too happy with the latest rumors regarding Johnny Knoxville and Andy Samberg being in talks for The Three Stooges. Some sites have mistakenly considered that to mean they were already signed, and that clearly isn't the case.  Here's what Peter Farrelly told EW about it...

Farrelly: “You don’t want people to think ‘they already cast that thing,’ because we haven’t,” “It’s wide open to everybody.”

He further revealedsome details of the plot, as well. As expected, this won't be a biopic of the famous comedy act, but will instead be a comedy story using the personas of Moe, Larry, and Curly. It will be divided into three acts, with the first taking place 40 years ago at the orphanage where the three were raised. The rest takes place in modern times where they discover that all that violence isn't exactly smiled upon by society.

Shooting is still set to begin in April, with the plan being to aim for a PG rating(eye pokes and groin shots aplenty, I'm sure).
