What happened to all that stuff about making smaller, independent movies? Turns out Kristen Stewart is jumping from vamps and werewolves to dwarves and evil queens as Variety is reporting that the Twilight actress has entered negotiations to join Snow White and the Huntsman.
The early talks between her and Universal were first noted just last week, but now it looks like the deal is all but signed, sealed, and delivered. The Rupert Sanders directed actioner features a modern retelling of the classic tale, with the Huntsman sent out by the evil queen to kill Snow White becoming her protector instead.
Viggo Mortensen has recently been in negotiations to join as the Huntsman, with Charlize Theron up for the role of the Evil Queen. Snow White and the Huntsman is currently slated for a December 21st 2012 release.
And with her signing, this puts Universal's flick way ahead of the other two Snow White flicks currently in production, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White(directed by Tarsem Singh) and Disney's Snow White and the Seven.
