Warner Brothers to distribute Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby?

My obsession with Baz Luhrmann's proposed adaptation of The Great Gatsby continues, and his tease from last week didn't help one bit.  Basically what the Moulin Rouge director hinted at was that he might not be making the film at all, and that we'd know one way or another at the end of the week. So it's a few days later than he promised, but we've finally got an update, and if you're anxiously waiting for every bit of info the way I am then it's pretty sweet update indeed.

Deadline states that Warner Brothers is close to acquiring the worldwide distribution rights to the film, which would be the first step in  getting the ball rolling on production. Once that's done, Dicaprio, Maguire, and Mulligan can be all locked and ready for filming.

So let's get on that, WB. Don't let me down.
