I don't think Drew Barrymore's been single for more than five minutes over the last decade, but she'll be behind the camera for How To Be Single, anyway. THR reports of Barrymore's signing, marking her second directorial effort. The first was 2009's Whip It, starring Ellen Page and Barrymore herself. Love that movie, and Barrymore showed she has a solid directorial hand, especially with the tough to shoot roller derby scenes.
How To Be Single is based on Liz Tuccillo's 2008 novel following the loves and break-ups of a group of friends over the course of 10 years. Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn penned the script. Barrymore is also serving as co-producer.
This one smells strangely like He's Just Not That Into You. Don't be surprised to see a role written in for Barrymore.
