Hey, 1 out of 3 ain't bad. In baseball that's a .333 batting average. Pretty sweet, yeah? In the film world that's not such a hot percentage, but that's exactly how many Pirates of the Caribbean movies I've liked. The one would be the most recent, which most people think is the worst. Whatever. The next chapter in the adventures of Jack Sparrow(Johnny Depp), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides looks like the biggest one yet. Based in part on Tim Powers' novel, On Stranger Tides, Sparrow has taken on a quest to discover the Fountain of Youth. He's pursued in this journey by the legendary pirate, Blackbeard(Ian McShane). Disney has released a brand new banner for the film, which sees Sparrow bustin' caps like a refugee from Menace II Society.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is directed by Rob Marshall(Chicago, Nine), based on a script by returning writers Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott. The film will hit theaters in 3D on May 20th!
