Red Band Trailer Time: Blitz, starring Jason Statham

Jason Statham appears to be trying to make us all forget about his participation in The Expendables. Sorry, my opinion of that movie has deteriorated considerably over the last year, even as my love for all things Statham has increased. Just a couple months back he gave his best Charles Bronson impression in The Mechanic, and now in Blitz he'll get to play someone no less deadly but theoretically on the side of law and order.

Blitz was written by Nathan Parker(Moon), based on Ken Bruen's 2002 novel about a psychotic cop who teams up with his partner to stop a serial killer targeting police officers.  Paddy Considine(In America), David Morrissey(Basic Instinct 2), and Aidan Gillen(Red Riding) co-star.  Elliot Lester directed, whose last film was the pharmaceutical grade paranoia flick, Love is the Drug.

If you happened to catch the first trailer(we never had a chance to post it), then it's more of the same, only with a more cussing. Otherwise this one's pretty tame, and looks like more of what you'd expect out of Statham. Grim face, gun loaded, curb stomping fun.  Blitz is due out in the UK in just a couple of months, so hopefully we'll see it here stateside not long after.
