Sure Shots: Source Code; Brendan Fraser; Clifton Collins Jr.

* Ben Ripley, the writer of Source Code is about to become a much busier dude. Not only is that film receiving very good early buzz(I loved it, personally), but I think it combines enough genres(thriller/sci-fi/mystery) to show his diversity. So with all that good will he's earned, another of his scripts is about to  be pushed into production. Variety reports that Shane Abbess is set to direct 7th Day, described as being about ” a voyage to establish a new colony in outer space”.

* Brendan Fraser has secured himself yet another comedic gig, only this time he won't be getting mugged by a bunch of talking animals. He's signed on to star in Terry George's(Hotel Rwanda) heist flick, Whole Lotta Sole, about "a young man who robs a fish store to pay off a gambling debt." Sounds like a friggin' riot. Thanks to Variety for that little tidbit. I can see myself passing on this one already.

* If you don't know the name Clifton Collins Jr. then I'll bet you recognize his work. The actor has had standout roles in movies like Capote and Star Trek, and recently had a hilarious cameo in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World(check the vegan police). Now he's set to join Hellbenders, a 3D film from director J.T. Petty about a secret team of elite demonologists battling a supernatural force." Could be cool.
