Sure Shots: The Three Stooges; Robert Luketic; Danny Huston
* When it became clear we weren't going to get Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, and Jim Carrey for The Three Stooges, a number of names were thrown about. One of the first was Johnny Knoxville, who was reportedly up to play Moe, the trio's "leader" of sorts. The Farrelly Brothers dismissed most of the rumors that had been forth, but now Variety reports that an offer has indeed been made to the Jackass star. If he signs expect the rest of the casting to fall in place pretty quickly.
* For all the ire it received from folks like me, you might be surprised to learn that Killers(featuring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher) actually earned close to $100M last year. Not a whopping sum but the film wasn't an absolute dud, either. It's still a far cry from director Robert Luketic's best, that being 2001's Legally Blonde. He's been looking for a similar hit ever since, and hopes to find it in his latest flick, Brilliant. He'll be directing the heist flick about small-time criminal who joins in the plans of a team of accomplished criminals.
* Danny Huston might be the best in the business when it comes to playing smarmy villains. Here's hoping he'll get another shot to do just that as he's just recently signed on to Medallion, the car chase thriller starring Nicolas Cage and Malin Akerman. Directed by Simon West(The Mechanic), the film features Cage as a thief who teams up with his ex-girlfriend to rescue his kidnapped daughter, trapped in the back of a Medallion taxi cab. I love the sound of this movie, and adding Huston only makes it better. Thanks to The Playlist for the info on this story.
