Jessica Biel offered lead role inTotal Recall remake

Jessica Biel's name is one that pops up for practically every major female lead role in a franchise flick, but in terms of actually getting those gigs? It doesn't tend to work out so hot. So she's slipped comfortably into a niche as the token hot chick, or like in The A-Team the token hot military chick.  But now here she is again with another offer for a role in a tentpole franchise, only this one it looks like she'll get.

Variety broke the news that Biel has been offered one of the two female leads in Len Wiseman's Total Recall reboot. They say that negotiations have not formally begun just yet, and exactly which role she'd play is unclear.

Off hand I'd say she'd make for a better Lori Quaid, the traitorous "wife" of Douglas Quaid, played by Colin Farrell.  Sharon Stone portrayed her in the 1990 film.  Biel could also be up for resistance fighter, Melina, previously personified by Rachel Ticotin. Then again we've learned that the story in this version of Total Recall looks to be vastly different, so assuming the characters are the same could be a mistake.

Other than Colin Farrell, the only other confirmed actor is Bryan Cranston(Breaking Bad), who will play the film's primary bad guy, Vilos Cohaagen.
