* After months of rumor, it looks like the Wachowskis are finally set to get rolling on their adaptation of David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas, a film that follows six interconnected stories spanning from the 19th century to the distant future. Tom Hanks is now officially attached to the film, with James McAvoy and Halle Berry also rumored. The Wachowskis will co-direct and write, along with Tom Twkyer(Run Lola Run). Shooting is set to begin in September, with Focus Features selling the rights at Cannes this year. Thanks to Deadline for that story!
* What good is a mob movie without Joe Pesci? Not worth a paper wrapped fish if you ask me. The actor has signed on to play John Gotti Sr.'s right hand man, Angelo Ruggiero, in Nick Cassavete's biopic, Gotti: Three Generations. John Travolta will be donning the custom suits of the Dapper Don, and Deadline also reports that Lindsay Lohan may be circling a role as well. She's really gettin' around for a chick who might be in prison soon. Shooting is scheduled to begin in October.
* One of my favorite characters appears to have sewn up the last big role we were waiting to see filled for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Rufus Sewell(Dark City) will be Adam, the main bad guy nemesis for the 16th Prez. He'll be joining an expansive cast that includes Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Robin McLeavy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson, and Alan Tudyk. Timur Bekmambetov directs the film, based on the historical horror novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.
