* With his nervous, highly intellectual demeanor I would say that Jesse Eisenberg would make for a perfect stand-in for Woody Allen in one of the filmmaker's flicks, and he just might get the chance to prove it.
Deadline reports a rumor that
The Social Network
star is in talks to join Allen's untitled Rome set rom-com. Alec Baldwin and Penelope Cruz are already confirmed for the film.
* I used to be a huge reggae fan before all my weed head friends ruined it by claiming to be Rastas and listening to be Bob Marley aficianados(they weren't). In fact one of my favorite crime movies ever was
The Harder They Come
, which was a heavy reggae influenced film starring Jimmy Cliff as a wannabe singer turned drug dealer. There've been attempts to remake the 1972 film before, but now it appears to be taking off yet again.
Variety reports that Chris Salewicz is writing a remake that will take place in both Jamaica and London, set to modern reggae grooves. The hope is to shoot some time in 2012, if the script and all the financials are in order.
* We're more than three years away from the first sequel to the biggest movie of all-time, James Cameron's
Avatar
, and likely it'll take every second of that time to get them just right. So it makes sense that Cameron would want to stick to his own schedule and not that of others. With the Santa Monica studio he shot most of Avatar at currently under renovations, Cameron has upped and moved his Lightstorm Entertainment a few miles down the road to a 580,000 square foot studio in Manhattan Beach, CA. He'll be shooting both sequels to the film at this new location once scripting has been completed.
