Sure Shots: Safe House; American Reunion; Elysium

* It's been a busy day for stars of AMC's series, The Killing. First Mirielle Enos was announced as playing Brad Pitt's wife in World War Z. And now Joel Kinnaman, who plays Enos's partner on the show, is set to star alongside Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in Safe House. This'll be the second pairing of Enos with director Daniel Espinosa, the two having worked together on Espinosa's breakout hit, Snabba Cash.

* The pie fu**ker and the rest of the American Pie gang are set to hook up for the fourth time in American Reunion, which sees them all...well, celebrating their 10-year high school reunion. While most of the principle cast is set to return(where's Natasha Lyonne you savages!!?), no release date had ever been set aside. That is until now. American Reunion is set to hit theaters on April 6th, 2012, just before the big summer onslaught. Smart positioning, if you ask me. Thanks to Deadline for the info on that story.

* We don't know jack about Neill Blomkamp's Elysium other than it's a sci-fi film with many of the same sociopolitical ideas that made his debut, District 9, so engrossing. We also know some of the cast: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, and Wagner Moura as the baddie. Well now we know just a tad bit more about Foster's character, as a recent LA Times article notes that she'll play the "head of state on an alien planet". So right there we know two things: Foster's role, and that the film will deal with more than just Earth. That's better than nothing.
