Sure Shots: The Mortal Instruments; American Reunion; Lena Endre joins The Master

* Sorry, Alex Pettyfer fans. You won't get a chance to see the blond douche stink up another adaptation of a popular novel.   Some time ago the Beastly star dropped out of contention for the starring role in Scott Stewart's film based on City of Bones, the first book in Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series. Now after much haggling over a bunch of actors who all look the same, Screen Gems has settled on Jamie Campbell Bower to play the role of Jace Wayland, a Shadowhunter who falls for the main character, Clary Fray(Lily Collins). Campbell Bower will be seen next in Roland Emmerich's Shakespeare conspiracy film, Anonymous, and can be seen right now as King Arthur in Starz! Network's Camelot series.

* If this whole American Reunion thing is going to be worth anything, it's that it's going to have a metric ton of smokin' hot babes in it. And I'm not even talking about the main cast like Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid(who really isn't hot at all) or the recently confirmed Shannon Elizabeth. I'm talking about the newbies like Katrina Bowden(Piranha 3DD) and the newly signed Dania Ramirez. Ramirez will be most recognizable to fans of the show Heroes, but she also played Callisto in X-men: The Last Stand. In Reunion she'll be playing Trisha, the girlfriend of Paul Finch(Eddie Kaye Thomas).

* I'm still smiling. The Playlist has confirmed that Lena Endre has joined the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming film, which I'm just going to refer to as The Master until somebody says different.  Her role is unclear at this point, but is believed to be a supporting one.As Erika Berger, Endre was one of my favorite elements of the Swedish adaptations of Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books. The film is set to begin shooting soon, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Laura Dern, Jesse Plemons, and David Warshofsky.
