film which opened at $54M at vastly lower ticket rates. What's probably most disturbing is how much worse it did than X-men Origins: Wolverine
, which opened at $85M just two years ago. What could the cause be? Is the X-men franchise dead thanks to two subpar movies in a row? By virtually all accounts, X-men: First Class is a top notch film, so maybe word of mouth will bring lure in more than just the fanboys. 2. The Hangover Part II
- $32.4M/$187MA 62% drop from last week is no joke, and much higher than The Hangover's second week slip. But the reason for that is the insane 5 day total the film had thanks to the holiday weekend.
3. Kung Fu Panda 2- $24.3M/$100M
The 2nd week tumble for the further adventures of Po and the Furious Five wasn't that much different than the first Kung Fu Panda flick, but with a smaller debut Dreamworks can't be happy.
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
