Trailer Time: Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star, starring Nick Swardson and Christina Ricci

So this is what Adam Sandler does to keep his friends? All those rejects who populate his crappy Happy Madison flicks and make them even crappier get thrown into their own super crappy comedy? Nick Swardson, who has been an irritant in pretty much every Sandler film including You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Bedtime Stories, and Just Go With It, gets his crack at the spotlight as Bucky Larson in Born To Be A Star

Bucky Larson is a small town nerd with a Prince Valiant haircut and two ultra conservative parents. When he discovers that his mom and pop were once porn stars, he leaves Iowa and heads off to Hollywood to follow in their footsteps. Somehow Christina Ricci was roped into this, but when you consider she hasn't done a movie that matters since 2008's Speed Racer(even longer since a good one), maybe it's not so strange.

A trailer has been released, and it looks like all the worst things about every Sandler spinoff flick all wrapped into one. Take Grandma's Boy, Benchwarmers, and Dickie Roberts and basically that's what this is.

Tom Brady(The Animal, The Hot Chick) directs, and if that doesn't tell you what to expect I don't know what else will. Sandler is partially responsible for the script, along with Allen Covert and Swardson himself. It's due to be released in somebody's basement on September 9th.
