If you haven't heard a lick about Main Street, then you're not alone. I hadn't either, and probably wouldn't have if it were for the folks over at HeyUGuys, who seem as stunned as I am. The reason is that it packs an amazing cast: Colin Firth, Orlando Bloom, Patricia Clarkson, Ellen Burstyn, Andrew McCarthy, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Amber Tamblyn. Brit theatre director John Doyle was at the helm. So what's it about? The residents of a small town in North Carolina see their lives thrown upside when a stranger arrives with a controversial plan to overhaul their rundown city. It sounds a little bit like John Sayles' Sunshine State. Main Street is supposed to open here on September 9th, but with so little heat behind this I'll be surprised if it turns up in too many theaters. Check out the trailer below...
