Sure Shots: The Great Gatsby; Magic Mike; GI Joe 2: Retaliation

* Baz Luhrmann's take on The Great Gatsby is on the verge of kicking off in just a few short weeks, and with the major cast all but locked up, he's filling out some of the outside characters in F. Scott Fitgerald's classic story. Aussie veteran actor, Jack Thompson, who last teamed up with Luhrmann on Australia, has been cast in the film. No word on what his role will be, however. He'll join Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, and newcomer Elizabeth Debicki. [Dailytelegraph via ThePlaylist]

* Sorry ladies. No more beefcake added to the cast of Steven Soderbergh's male stripper pic, Magic Mike. ThePlaylist has been broken the news that Cody Horn, daughter of ex-Warner Brothers COO Alan Horn, has joined the cast of the film, which is due to kick off within a month. The story centers on an experienced male dancer(Channing Tatum) who teaches an up 'n comer(Alex Pettyfer) how get a few dollar bills shoved down his pants. Matthew McConaughey is an ex-dancer turned club owner. Matt Bomer, Riley Keough, and Joe Manganiello also star. Horn, who was last seen in the Rob Reiner coming of age film, Flipped, will play the sister of Pettyfer's character and has a fling with Tatum's.

* Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has tweeted a confirmation that Bruce Willis is officially signed on to play the original Joe, General Joe Colton in G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Willis had been rumored to be up for a part in the Jon Chu directed sequel for a couple of months, then recently entered talks for the role. I take it this will be more of a cameo, as Colton is basically a figurehead character in the most popular versions of G.I. Joe. The 1980s toy adaptation will hit theaters on June 29th 2012.
