John Malkovich to join Jonathan Levine's zombie flick, Warm Bodies

Zombie movies? There are too many of them. It's a crowded field, bubbling over the movie world and into television as well. But to be fair, new things are being done with the subgenre to keep it interesting. One of the projects that I think tackles zombies in a particularly cool way is Warm Bodies, a zombie romance that'll be the next film from Jonathan Levine(The Wackness, 50/50).

Already sporting a cast that includes Nicholas Hoult(X-men: First Class), Teresa Palmer(Take Me Home Tonight) and Rob Corddry(Hot Tub Time Machine), Variety now reports that John Malkovich is in final talks to join as well. The film centers on a zombie named R(Hoult) who enters into an odd relationship with the girlfriend(Palmer) of one of his victims. Malkovich will play General Grigio, who wants to see all zombies destroyed.

A strange film that just got an added injection of weirdness with Malkovich. So far Levine has yet to fail me in any of his three flicks, and Warm Bodies is already looking like a winner. Shooting is set to begin later this month.
