After all the casting drama behind The Farrelly Brothers' sorta remake/reimagining/biopic of The Three Stooges, they settled on the most oddball trio possible. Sean Hayes(Will & Grace
) will play Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos(The Kennedys
) is their leader Moe, and Will Sasso(MadTV
) is Curley. Nyuk nyuk! That's a hell of a dropoff considering Sean Penn, Benecio Del Toro, and Jim Carrey were originally pegged to play the legendary comedy troupe.After getting bumped around for a couple of years due to all the difficulties, the film finally has a release date slotted for April 4th 2012. The film will feature three interconnected stories starting from the Stooges' hard upbringing and into a more modern setting. Jane Lynch, Larry David, Sofia Vergara, and Jennifer Hudson are set to co-star, so if the Stooges themselves are less than impressive at least there's some serious comedic muscle working around them.
