1st look at Kristen Wiig's upcoming comedy, Imogene

I've been extremely excited over the post-Bridesmaids choices made by Kristen Wiig. Rather than jumping immediately into a sequel, she's tackling roles that will expand her influence, such as starring in Sean Penn's The Comedian opposite Robert De Niro. It's also given her a chance to tackle some passion projects, like the upcoming indie comedy, Imogene, which she's both producing and starring.

Comingsoon.net has the first images from the film, which has Wiig as a desperate woman who fakes her own death in order to win back her ex-boyfriend. Instead the plan backfires, and she ends up living at home with her eccentric mother. Annette Bening plays her mom, with Natasha Lyone, Matt Dillon, and Darren Criss co-starring. Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman are directing, with a script by  Michelle Morgan. No firm release date has been set, but it's expected to hit some time next year. Check out the new shots of Imogene below...
