Diablo Cody adds comedian Sarah Colonna to her directorial debut
Diablo Cody is pulling from her former Showtime series, The United States of Tara, for the next to be a part of her directorial debut, once titled Lamb of God. Sarah Colonna, currently a writer and panelist on Chelsea Lately and finalist on Last Comic Standing, will take a supporting role in the religious comedy, set to begin shooting this spring.
Julianne Hough plays a hyper religious, fundamentalist young woman who loses her faith when she is left scarred and burned after a plane crash. Taking off to Las Vegas to live the life of sin she had been neglecting, she encounters a number of characters along the way who help change her life. The film already sports a phenomenal cast, including Russell Brand, Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman, and Holly Hunter as Hough's mom. [Deadline]
