1st look at Emily Blunt in Rian Johnson's 'Looper'
What is there that Emily Blunt can't do? We've seen her do historical period pieces like The Young Victoria; tapped into her adventurous side with The Adjustment Bureau; and seen her get silly in Gulliver's Travels and The Five-Year Engagement. With her upcoming role in Rian Johnson's trippy sci-fi film, Looper, it looks like we'll get to see her kick a little butt.
Although we've seen some images and a full trailer for the film already, we're finally getting our first good look at Blunt, and she's packin' some serious heat. I'm totally diggin' that hair, too. Just sayin'. The story, which has been described as a little bit Blade Runner, takes place in a future where time travel has been perfected but is illegal. Criminal organizations use it to send their victims back to the past, where a hitman known as a "looper" finishes them off and disposes the bodies. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, heavily made up in prosthetics, plays one of these loopers, who is justifiably shocked when his latest target turns out to be an older version of himself, played by Bruce Willis.
Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo, and Garrett Dillahunt co-star in what looks like another winner from Johnson. Looper hits on September 28th! [AllMoviePhoto]
