Angelina Jolie reportedly in talks to join Ridley Scott's 'The Counselor'

When Angelina Jolie is involved, there are no small roles. Period. More than just another actress, Jolie is a global figure that can get a project green lit just by showing the  smallest amount of interest. In the case of Ridley Scott's The Counselor, the addition of Jolie would make the already piping hot project something potentially amazing.

Vulture reports that Jolie has entered talks for what they're describing as a cameo in the film, which comes with an original script by Cormac McCarthy. Said to be similar in tone to McCarthy's No Country for Old Men, the story centers on an attorney who enters into a the drug world looking for a quick payday, only to get in too deep and have a hard time getting back to normalcy. Michael Fassbender is locked in for the lead, with Natalie Portman, Javier Bardem, Jeremy Renner, and Jolie's husband Brad Pitt mentioned for roles. Filming is supposed to kick off in June, which would give Jolie time to squeeze it in before she starts shooting Maleficent, which Disney just gave a March 2014 release date to.

Scott and Jolie had been set to work together before on a Gertrude Bell biopic, but that appears to have come and gone. If all the pieces fall into place, this would be the first time Jolie and Pitt have been on-screen together since Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
