Ok, we get it. Everybody wants to work with Rooney Mara right now, and the actress who made such a splash with in The Social Network has been quick to jump at every opportunity. One day after we learned she'd be a part of Spike Jonze's upcoming flick, she's landed another with the great Nick Hornby(High Fidelity) adapting the script.
Mara will star in Brooklyn, an adaptation of Colm Toiben's novel about an Irish woman who leaves her home to emigrate to New York and accept a job offer. There she meets a new man in her life, but tragedy ultimately calls her back to Ireland, where she meets another guy, forcing her to make a decision. The film comes from the producers of An Education, who are currently seeking a director.
Another solid sounding project for Mara, and with her name attached don't be surprised to see another A-list director come aboard. What's her current run of directors looking like? David Fincher, Steven Soderbergh, Terrence Malick, and Spike Jonze? Wow. Filming is set to begin this September.
