'The Avengers' Blu-Ray to include a whopping 30 minutes of deleted footage
Are you ready for more Avengers action? No, seriously, are you ready for more? A lot more? Judging by the $200M opening weekend, everybody who has any desire to watch movies went to see The Avengers this past weekend, so you probably realize the film was already clocking at a hefty 2 1/2 hours. Well, it could have been even longer, by about say...30 minutes. While Joss Whedon may have left that stuff on the cutting room floor, he recently revealed to Collider that all 30 minutes will be put in there for the eventual Blu-Ray release.
Most of the footage will revolve around Captain America(Chris Evans), and his continuing inability to adapt to modern times. We got a glimpse of it during the closing minutes of Captain America: The First Avenger, but we don't get to see nearly enough of it in The Avengers. As for when the Blu-Ray will hit? Eh, probably not for awhile, as it's going to have a lengthy and very lucrative theatrical run. I'll bet we start hearing about a possible date right around the time The Dark Knight Rises is set to open. If you're interested in hearing the entire Whedon interview, where he casually deflects any talk of a sequel, check it out below....
