If you've been paying attention to the newswire recently, you might have heard some barely supported rumors of Rihanna playing the villain in Fast and the Furious 6. The stuffed suits over at Universal were pleased by her no doubt riveting performance in Battleship, and this was a sure way to reward her. Well it turned out to be a false story, with Rihanna telling MTV it wasn't happening, quickly followed by a report stating Luke Evans(The Three Musketeers) had been offered the part. On what planet can Rihanna and Luke Evans play the part without some pretty major tweakage?
You can throw Jason Statham into that equation as well, as it's the same role Jason Statham had been circling for months. Evans make for a terribly boring addition, and he'll get swallowed up by those two charisma magnets, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Not only that, but as *SPOILER* hinted at the end of Fast Five, Michelle Rodriguez is returning to the role of Letty, where she'll hopefully get in a massive, cream corn soaked catfight with the recently added Gina Carano(Haywire). All of these people are more compelling than Evans, who just recently sleepwalked through The Raven with John Cusack.
As for Rihanna, I'm sure she'll turn out just fine as she'll make a cameo as herself in Judd Apatow and Jay Baruchel's celebrity comedy, The End of the World. [Twitch]
