As much as we all love Christopher Nolan, a great deal of his success can be attributed to his cinematographer, the renowned Wally Pfister. The duo have been together since Memento, but have reached new creative heights in recent years with Inception and the Batman trilogy. As The Dark Knight Rises edges closer to wrapping up the series, it's unclear if they'll go their separate ways. One thing is for sure, things won't quite be the same, albeit in a positive way.
It was last March that we learned Pfister would be making his directorial debut, in a film to be scripted by Jack Paglen. That's....pretty much all we knew. Now today Alcon Entertainment has announced that Christopher Nolan and his wife/producing partner Emma Thomas will exec-produce the untitled film, which is slated to begin production in the fall or early winter.
What else do we know? Not a damn thing. One thing Pfister has clearly picked up from Nolan is his gift for secrecy, but clearly something big is going on here. You can bet we'll be keeping an eye on it.
