New poster for the live-action 'Rurouni Kenshin'

Somebody at Warner Brothers is intent on bringing the world of Japanese manga and anime to American theaters, and I for one couldn't be happier about it. So the live-action Akira didn't work out so well, but they've also got an adaptation of the popular Bleach franchise on the way. Most interesting to me are their plans for a global run for their live-action adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga series, Rurouni Kenshin. The film is completed, we've already seen one great trailer, and it'll make its way to Japan on August 25th with other territories to follow. One of those will likely be the United States.

A new poster has been released featuring the film's entire cast, with star Takeru Satoh front and center and deadly as Himura Kenshin, a war veteran who now wanders the earth as an assassin for hire. When Tokyo is threatened by enemies both new and from his past, Kenshin takes up his swords to defend his homeland. In case you're wondering, the Japanese tagline reads "No matter what, I will return".
