Bradley Cooper has been on one heck of a roll over the last year, so it was a little odd when we learned he'd be co-starring in the latest comedy from Dax Shepard(Without a Paddle), which at the time was titled Outrun. The Hangover is one thing, but Shepard doesn't exactly have the best track record, so it seemed like a major step down. Now going by the name Hit and Run, the action laugher has Shepard as an ex-getaway driver who busts out of his safe Witness Protection Program confines in order to drive his fiance to Los Angeles. Shepard's real life lady, Kristen Bell, will play the fiance, with Cooper as a member of his old gang hunting them down.
Shepard wrote the script and co-directed the film with David Palmer, much as they did in the meta-comedy, Brother's Justice. It actually looks like it might be a lot of fun, with Cooper sporting a ridiculous head of dreadlocks and looking to just be having a good time. Plus, it's hard to discount the cast that Shepard has put together, with Joy Bryant, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Chenoweth, David Koechner, Ryan Hansen(Party Down), Tom Arnold, and Beau Bridges co-starring.
