Trailer Time: 'Pitch Perfect', starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson

While Anna Kendrick has gone on to become and Oscar nominated actress now, she began her career in a little seen, very underrated musical. That film was Camp, and Kendrick was even a stand out back then, showing not only her impressive acting talent but an unexpected vocal range. She was the best part of a very good movie, and now with the acapella comedy, Pitch Perfect, we get to see her mine similar territory, albeit in a film that looks like it wants to be Glee meets Bring It On meets Bridesmaids.

Directed by stage director, Jason Moore(Avenue Q), and written by Kay Cannon(30 Rock), Kendrick plays Beca, a college outsider who gets roped into joining an all-female a capella group. Being a bit of a rebel, she of course freshens up their stale routines, and heats up their rivalry with an all-boy band. After a relatively slow start, the newly released trailer picks up quickly thanks to the presence of supporting players, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow. Wilson actually might be the best part, or at least the greatest source for laughs. Coming off of Rock of Ages and the over saturation of Glee, movies like this are going to have a tough time gaining a foothold, but this looks like it could be quite a bit of fun.  Elizabeth Banks, who both produced and has a small role, may have a hit on her hands. Count me in, as well.

Pitch Perfect is set to open on October 5th. Check out the trailer below....
