If you found the boy scout scenes in Moonrise Kingdom charming and nostalgic, then....well, Nature Calls probably isn't the movie for you. In the newly released red band trailer we see people peeing on camp signs, waving guns around, crucifixion, and general misbehavior in a way far more vulgar than anything we saw in Meatballs. I tend to like movies like this, but even with a promising cast this just looks awful.
The camp comedy stars Patton Oswalt as Scoutmaster Randy Stevens, who attempts to show up his macho big brother Kirk(Johnny Knoxville) by taking his apathetic scout troop on a highly unauthorized camping trip. Rob Riggle and the late great comedian Patrice O'Neal join Knoxville in tracking the boys down, and basically what we get is a lot of screaming expletives but nothing that's actually funny. Frankly, I get worried any time I see that irritating kid from Role Models in anything, as his presence usually indicates crap is on the horizon.
Nature Calls is directed by Todd Rohal and hits VOD on October 4th before opening in theaters on November 9th....
