We've known for awhile that Pixar was planning Finding Nemo 2. It was a given, really, as it remains one of their most popular films, and they've shown no reluctance in hammering out sequels to their cash cows. Last summer saw the return of director Andrew Stanton, fresh off taking a career pounding with John Carter. Ellen DeGeneres was also confirmed to come back and voice Dory. Can't have a sequel without Dory. And now another key piece to the puzzle has fallen into place.
Deadline reports that Albert Brooks, who has been one serious late-career comeback of late, has agreed to return as Marlin, the father clownfish who previously went on a journey to find his missing son. We have no idea what the plot of the sequel will be, but I'm assuming Nemo gets lost again? Or maybe it will be Marlin who needs to be found this time?
Victoria Strouse is penning the script, and if the film is a success then Stanton will find himself with another live-action opportunity. Is this a good idea? Or are we looking at another Cars 2 here?
