Sure Shots: Colin Farrell; Rodrigo Santoro; 'Superman: Unbound'

* The last time Colin Farrell and Anthony Hopkins teamed up it was for the dreadful Oliver Stone historical epic, Alexander. Hopefully the next time will be the charm. Farrell is joining Hopkins in Solace, a serial killer flick that has been in various stages of development for years but finally took off last May. Directed by Afonso Poyart, the story centers on an FBI agent (Farrell) who enlists a retired doctor to track down a serial killer with supernatural gifts. Sounds kind of horrible, and with no start date officially set who knows if/when it'll ever happen. [Deadline]

* It's going to be a busy year for Rodrigo Santoro, and it's just about to get busier. He recently starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Last Stand, and will reprise the role of Xerxes in 300: Rise of an Empire. Now he's joined Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender, and Joel Edgerton in Lynn Ramsay's Western, Jane Got a Gun. Santoro will play a character named Fitchum in the story about a woman named Jane Hammond (Portman), whose husband turns on his old gang and winds up getting shot for it. Hoping to get revenge, Jane turns to her ex-lover Dan Frost (Fassbender) for help. Filming on Jane Got a Gun begins soon, so expect to see it some time in 2014. [Deadline]

* We just brought you the new trailer for DC's animated film, Superman: Unbound, which has the Man of Steel facing off against his alien nemesis, Brainiac. Now we know exactly when the DVD/Blu-Ray will hit store shelves. Warner Bros. has announced a May 7th release date, just a couple of months after the world premier at WonderCon. The film features the voices of Matt Bomer, John Noble, Molly Quinn, and Stana Katic.
