Sure Shots: Dan Stevens; Mark Neveldine; Ralph Fiennes


* Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens continues to ready himself for a Hollywood run. He recently joined Benedict Cumberbatch's Wikileaks film, The Fifth Estate, and now he'll hang with Liam Neeson in his next flick. Stevens has joined A Walk Among the Tombstones, a thriller written and directed by Scott Frank (The Lookout), and based on the Matthew Scudder trilogy of mystery novels. The story has the private detective working for a heroine dealer who wants to find the men responsible for murdering his wife.  [Variety]

* Mark Neveldine (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) will fly solo from his usual directing partner Brian Taylor, and take on the long-gestating horror, The Vatican Tapes. Once set to be helmed by James Marsh, the story follows a series of events after a tape leaks from the Vatican showing an exorcism gone wrong. [Variety]

* Ralph Fiennes is in talks to take the lead in Sands, the upcoming drama from Glengary Glen Ross director, James Foley. Based on a script by Renata Bovara, the story follows a surgeon's wife whose spirit goes on a journey after an accident puts her in a coma. Her spirit falls in love with an imaginary figure, and she mus ultimately decide between him and her love for her husband.
