Amongst all of the gloomy Iron Man 3, Catching Fire, and Man of Steel footage revealed at last night's MTV Movie Awards, there was also a little something for those just looking for a good laugh. A new clip debuted for The Heat, the new buddy comedy starring Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock as mismatched cops out to stop a druglord or something.
The plot doesn't really seem to matter, and in general this kind of feels like a warmed-over throwback from the mid-90s. But McCarthy and Bullock are usually pretty good at this sort of material, and Paul Feig proved himself a capable director with Bridesmaids. It'll just be interesting to see how it holds up in the middle of the crowded summer season. Hopefully it does better than the guy who airbrushed the two funny ladies into oblivion on this new poster.
The Heat opens on June 28th.
